Exploring Sosabeol, the “Best Date Night Neighborhood” in Pyeongtaek
If you’re looking for food and fun, Sosabeol is a great destination

Sosabeol is a neighborhood in Pyeongtaek that’s considered “the best date night neighborhood” around because it offers a ton of restaurants, activities, and themed cafes. We spent a Sunday afternoon wandering around its packed streets (cars were stacked like sardines along the street and sidewalks).
HoneyFlex Cafe
Our first stop was the honey-bee themed cafe HoneyFlex. Its entrance was so short, we had to literally duck our heads to get inside.

We ordered “ades” (carbonated drinks made from fruit — think an upleveled lemonade). My ade us made of Yuja and Mike played it safe with a lemonade. According to the website My Korean Kitchen,“Yuja looks like a smaller version of yellow grapefruit, but with more uneven skin. As for the taste, it is tangy, tart, and bitter-sweet — like lemon, mandarine orange, and grapefruit all in one.”
My daring choice paid off. It was complex and delicious. Mike’s choice was kind of sour. I ended up drinking both.
The desserts were freshly made and tasted wonderful. I definitely want to return for to try their coffee and buy some locally sourced honey.

Cat Cafe
Our next stop was a cat cafe that was frankly disappointing. The condition of the cats made me angry because they obviously weren’t cared for properly (in my opinion), and the drinks the owner served us were not great. Honestly, they weren’t even good. And they were WAY overpriced.
