Women are doomed victims of our own hormones.

When we’re young and perky, our fates are decided by the whims of estrogen and progesterone. You’d think Mother Nature would give us a break after menopause.

No such luck. She throws a new set of annoyances our way.

I haven’t had a really solid night’s sleep in a long time. My instincts told me my persistent insomnia is related to a drop in my hormone levels due to menopause. And now, it appears, my intuition is correct.

“According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one in three Americans don’t get enough sleep on a regular basis. Research suggests that for women, hormones may play a bigger role in your sleeping patterns than you realize.”

Oh, we realize.
